My name is Sam, and I was born in 1990. Instead of seagulls on the beach, I like to think my version is crows on the prairie.
I enjoy a career in public service and am devoted to my small, rural community. I work a lot, and I’m also working on a master’s degree. Heck yeah, academia!
I’ve gone to speakeasy bars with my best friends and watched Tara Reid dance on the tabletop in the same night that Stephen Amell gave me a hug. I’ve share bourbon out the bottle with Ming Chen and a wildly drunk hug with Tom Felton. I’ve kissed the top of Grant Morrison’s head and went to a Las Vegas after-party with Gerard Way, James Gunn, and Jimmy Urine. I’ve been to Europe and Australia and even Hogwarts. I’ve been on the cover of a magazine and backstage at more than a few concerts. My life has sometimes been a whirlwind of makeup and costumes, comicons and airplanes, and long drives for short weekends.
But balance is important, so the rest of my free time is spent in a chair watching TV with my mom, writing (or rewriting) pages, and falling asleep with a couple of dogs on my lap at 8:30pm because I’m just not as young as I once was. These days, my life is boring more often than it’s exciting, and I’m sorta okay with that. I’ve been told that I’m the most introverted extrovert to ever exist.
This space is where I share my highlights. From the mundane moments of TV watching and story writing, to the exciting and magical adventures I sometimes find myself on– I hope you have fun exploring both halves, and that it helps you get to know me a little more.
Oh. And I also have one sister who’s pretty cool. We’re not twins, contrary to popular belief.
